Gamification encourages dialogue and cooperation between different cultures in a fun and engaging way. In collaboration with an international consortium, the IIC develops Diversophy learning games.

Background

‘Gamification’ is defined as “learning by playing”.

diversophy® educational games enable players to practice interacting successfully with people from different backgrounds and cultures in an enjoyable way. There are over 100 games for designed to help players navigate various countries and cultures, as well as educational games that teach the perspectives and skills needed to work in diverse contexts and environments. These educational games have a global reach in terms of their content, language versions and distribution.

Results

The Institute for Intercultural Communication at Aschaffenburg UAS aims to develop, test and pilot a country-specific game about Iceland and an ‘emblems game’ in collaboration with selected global partners. This project is based on the Institute's intercultural expertise and collaborative research with international partner institutions.
