About the ZENTRIA.Hub

ZENTRIA - Centre for Entrepreneurship into Action works together with the University of Würzburg (JMU) and the University of Applied Sciences Würzburg-Schweinfurt (THWS) to create a central point of contact in Lower Franconia to specifically promote innovation, business start-ups and knowledge transfer. Partnerships with regional start-ups and technology transfer centres as well as other players from the regional and supra-regional economy are planned to enrich the offerings for those interested in setting up a business.

The ZENTRIA.hub offers a practice-orientated certificate programme for prospective entrepreneurs. The ZENTRIA.Hub is affiliated to the VentureLab at Aschaffenburg University of Applied Sciences. The VentureLab team offers advice on funding programmes, provides support in drawing up business plans and, if required, in planning the construction of prototypes among other support.

Contents of the certificate programme

  • A 4-phase Practical entrepreneurship training
  • Workshops (e.g. on the topics of trend analysis, product development process)
  • Internships at start-ups and SMEs
  • Final phase: stay abroad or internship at cooperating start-ups

The first pilot run is planned for the summer semester 2025 and winter semester 2025/26.

The opening of the ZENTRIA.hub is an important milestone in our comprehensive support programme for start-ups. The hub intensifies the activities of Aschaffenburg UAS in practical knowledge and technology transfer and emphasises our consistent commitment to a lively start-up ecosystem on the Bavarian Lower Main.

Background

As part of the ‘Hightech Transfer Bavaria’ initiative, the Free State of Bavaria is supporting the development of start-up centres in the university regions of Swabia, Middle Franconia, Upper Franconia, Lower Franconia and Eastern Bavaria. In this way, the Free State is strengthening the start-up ecosystem in the long term by introducing targeted study programmes and providing financial support in the five university regions.
