  • Where can I view my orders?

You can get an overview of your current orders (books, e-books, articles) in your user account in the library catalogue.

  • How can I extend the loan period of my books?

The loan period is usually four weeks.

In your library account, you can see online which items you have currently borrowed and extend the loan period of the items. You can also view different loan periods - e.g. for orders from other libraries - in your library account.

To log in to your library account, you will need your library number. This can be found on your CampusCard or, for guest users, on your library card. The password for the library catalogue is your birthday (ddmm, e.g. 0204 for April second). It must be changed after the first login. You can change the password yourself in your library account in the library catalogue. You can also have a new one sent to you via "Forgotten password".

You can extend the loan period up to two times by one month each. However, this is only possible at the earliest five days before the loan period expires and only as long as the books have not been reserved by another user.

Books that you have ordered via interlibrary loan will only be extended under reserve, i.e. the books can be reclaimed at any time!

For members of the university (students, staff, professors), this will be labelled with [EXT] as it is sent via an external server.

Document delivery services

In rare cases, literature may not be available via interlibrary loan. Also if you have particularly urgent orders, we recommend to use another document delivery service.

You can order literature privately via the following document delivery services independently of the interlibrary loan service.

Generally, you can have specialised literature delivered to your home by post or download the desired documents directly. The fees start at around €6.00 (article delivery by mail) and €9.00 (book delivery by post). Further information can be found on the information pages of the individual delivery services.
